To the Summit

Warrior Nation have reached Base Camp. And it is spectacular up here. Even better than I remember. Those final few steps, travelled over 80 minutes against Penrith, were simply breathtaking. Emotions ran wild: high-fives, fist pumps. Dancing, too. And, as it became clear that we were all but there, a gentle trickle of tears escaped from my eyes. Although we have been here before, the journey back has not been easy. There was much disappointment along the path we travelled, an arduous climb that took much longer than we could have ever imagined. In many ways, that has made it even more satisfying this time around.

Run Roger Run

For anyone who hasn’t seen it, Run Lola Run is a 1998 German movie that explores a number of different themes through a recurring sequence of events in which Lola has 20 minutes to save her boyfriend’s life. One of those key themes is how much chance can impact one’s destiny, how the smallest deviation in timing or action can have a major impact on the final outcome. More Bounce Than A Trampoline

It’s hard to justify buying a trampoline as an adult. There are so many other things that seem more worthy or more necessary, like food and shelter, but is there a better feeling than the one you get when you leap into the air, letting gravity take its course before briefly touching the surface and springing back higher than before? Okay, you can probably think of a few things to top that, but in the moment a perfectly executed leap sure feels up there with the best of them. Try it for yourself. Jump into the air. Right now. You don’t even need a trampoline. Do it now. See how it feels.
